{"id":11869,"date":"2025-10-27T10:43:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T10:43:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sworks.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=11869"},"modified":"2025-10-27T10:54:43","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T10:54:43","slug":"media-report-on-the-egypt-unites-us-initiative","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/sworks.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/news\/media-report-on-the-egypt-unites-us-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Report About &#8221;Egypt Unities Us&#8221; Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">Aswan University, in partnership with the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, launched the \u201cEgypt Unites Us\u201d initiative to strengthen social unity and reject extremism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">As part of the pioneering role of Egyptian universities in promoting the values of social cohesion, peace, and tolerance, the Faculty of Social Work at Aswan University organized this initiative on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi Hall.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Louai Saad El-Din Nasrat, President of Aswan University; Prof. Ashraf Imam Abdel-Rady, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abbas Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The event was attended by a number of academic staff, representatives of the Coptic Evangelical Organization, and a large audience of students and those interested in social affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The initiative aims to enhance social solidarity within Egyptian society, contribute to the achievement of sustainable development, and reinforce the values of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among all segments of the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The program opened with welcoming remarks by the University President, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Work, and a representative of the Evangelical Organization, who emphasized the importance of the initiative in rejecting violence, intolerance, and discrimination among university students. They also affirmed that Egypt has always been \u2014 and continues to be \u2014 a unique model of national unity and peaceful coexistence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The celebration featured a patriotic song titled \u201cEgypt Unites Us\u201d, performed by university students, followed by a series of training workshops and enriching lectures addressing the initiative\u2019s main themes, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">\u201cThe Role of Universities in Disseminating the Values of Social Cohesion and Rejecting Violence,\u201d presented by Prof. Dr. Abdel Moneim El-Gilani, Dean of the Institute of African Research and Nile Basin Studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">\u201cThe Role and Tolerance of Divine Religions in Spreading the Culture of Peace and Rejecting Intolerance and Discrimination,\u201d presented by His Eminence Sheikh Taha Mohamed Ibrahim Jaafar, Imam at the Ministry of Endowments, and Father Abdel-Masih Shukry, Priest of St. George\u2019s Church in Aswan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">Prof. Ahmed Kamel El-Rashidi, former Dean of the Faculty of Education and Advisor to the University President, also delivered a speech titled \u201cThe Role of Youth in Promoting a Culture of Dialogue and Tolerance.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The program additionally included poetry performances by university students, a segment titled \u201cYouth Experiences in Confronting Discrimination and Intolerance,\u201d and a lecture on \u201cThe Community\u2019s Role in Rejecting Intolerance and Promoting Social Cohesion,\u201d delivered by Dr. Sohair Ahmed Sayed, Training Consultant at the Egyptian Family Development Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">At the conclusion of the event, several key recommendations were announced, emphasizing the importance of spreading a culture of understanding, acceptance, and mutual respect.
