PhD Dissertation Defense in the Department of Social Work Fields

The doctoral dissertation submitted by researcher Hend Mansour Hamed Youssef was discussed on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Dissertation Title:
“The Effectiveness of Preventive Programs for Volunteer Homes Provided by the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse in Achieving Their Goals”
Examination and Evaluation Committee:
Prof .Mustafa Mahmoud Mustafa, Professor of Social Work and Vice -President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, New Valley University (Examiner and Chair).
Prof. Abdel Moneim Sultan Gilani, Professor and former Head of the Department of Social Work and Dean of the Institute of African and Nile Basin Studies, Aswan University (Supervisor).
Dr. Amr Othman – Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity and Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Substance Abuse, under the auspices of the Cabinet (Discussant)

Dr. Ibrahim El-Sayed Fathi Askar – Director General of Preventive Programs at the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Substance Abuse (Supervisor)
In attendance were a number of faculty members and teaching assistants from the faculty, as well as the researcher’s family.
The committee recommended awarding the researcher a PhD with First Class Honors, with a recommendation to publish the dissertation and exchange it with universities, centers, and scientific and research institutions inside and outside Egypt, and to print the dissertation at the university’s expense.
