The Faculty of Social Work was established in Aswan in 1995 as one of the Aswan faculties-South Valley University, and the first batch graduated in 1999-2000; since that time, the faculty has worked to prepare qualified and practical cadres to meet the needs of Aswan governorate and other governorates in the field of social services; in addition to implementing programs that work on qualifying graduates for academic and developmental fields that are aimed to be extended in other fields, presenting educational programs in postgraduate studies field for graduates of the faculty and other faculties and institutes, and contributing to the development of civil community services.

The Faculty could only play this important and virtual role by improving the quality of its services in order to develop and update academic programs, scientific and social research, and studies, and by establishing mechanisms for improving faculty activities in the field of community service and environmental development, which leads to the establishment of an internal system to ensure the quality of the Faculty of Social Work at Aswan University.
