Department seeks to contribute to preparing a specialized graduate in social work and a general practitioner with experience and high skills to keep up with the technological and scientific developments and has the ability of compete in the labor market and develop the constituents of the educational process in the field of community service. 

The group work department provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in various group work at the bachelor and postgraduate levels. The department seeks to connect the academic and local levels by applying master’s and doctoral theses on the community, directing the goals of these dissertations towards studying and solving the community’s problems.

-In cooperation with other departments, the department seeks to professionally prepare and develop scientific cadres to work in the community service area, and to graduate a social worker who can work as a general practitioner after scientific and practical preparation.

-Teaching the faculty’s curricula in terms of course descriptions, as well as ongoing revision of this description in light of scientific and practical updates at the local, national, and worldwide levels and developing a departmental research plan to characterize the community service department’s courses and determine the desired results and skills for graduates.

-Providing courses relevant to the department based on course characterization, and continuously reviewing this description in light of scientific and practical advancements at the local, national, and worldwide levels.

-Developing the department’s research plan and identifying the areas of study and research in the field of community service. Contribute to the development of field training programs to contribute to the development of the faculty training program in coordination with other departments.

-Conducting and implementing field research in the community service field that leads to the contribution to developing theoretical construction for the method and career in general.

-Developing postgraduate studies through contributing to conducting research in the field of community service, teaching courses and supervision of scientific articles, and field training for graduates.
