The Community Planning Department seeks to keep up with local and national developments in order to contribute to preparing a graduate who has the ability to compete in the labour market, having experience and skill for investing all the available human, material, and technical resources through the continuing development of the knowledgeable building of the way of organising the community, conducting civil research, and upgrading postgraduate studies, which contribute to achieving high-level quality for the graduates and the educational process in general.

Community Planning Department contributes to preparing a social worker provided with knowledge, professional, and practical basis to deal with the community at the local, national, and regional levels,  also having necessary skills for dealing with social problems in the local community sectors, and its organizations, leaders, and grass-roots groups which contribute to developing the community, and directing and bringing out social change through conducting the scientific social research, training courses, and workshops within under the commitment to the ethics of the social service; and contribution to developing the knowledgeably theoretical construction theoretically and practically, and postgraduate studies of the way of community organization and social work in general.

Contributing to the description of the faculty’s study program and courses in the community organization department, as well as determining desired outcomes and graduate skills.

Teaching the department’s courses while describing them, as well as continuously reviewing this description in light of scientific and practical updates at the local, national, and global levels.

Developing the department’s research strategy and establishing the areas of study and research for the community organization department. Contributing to the development of training programs for community organizations, as well as the development of faculty training programs in collaboration with other departments.

Contributing to community service by delivering training courses and workshops to all sections of the local community, including grassroots groups, institutions, and governmental, civic, and voluntary organizations.

Conducting and implementing civic research for community organizations while contributing to the theoretical development of the approach and career in general.

Developing postgraduate studies by researching community organization issues, teaching courses, supervising scientific theses, and providing field training to postgraduate students.
