Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities” How Can We Help Our Children Consciously”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamed Gaber Abbas Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty.

The Community Organization Department, in cooperation with the Field Training Unit, represented by fourth-year field training students from the Student Welfare Office at the Faculty of Education, organized a celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Al-Amal Primary School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

The event, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Aya Lotfy Abdel-Razek, was held under the title “How to Help Our Children Consciously.”

The celebration was attended by academic staff and teaching assistants from the Community Organization Department, including:

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Razek Amin, Professor and Head of the Community Organization Department;

Dr. Ayman Adly Qadri, Lecturer of Community Organization;

Dr. Ahmed Youssef Sayed, Lecturer of Community Organization;

Assistant Lecturer Aya Lotfy Abdel-Razek;

Ms. Mariam Abdel-Rahman Sadek; and

Ms. Aya Mohamed Abdel-Rahim.

The celebration was also honored by the presence of distinguished members of the administrative staff.

– Ms. Marsa Tawfiq Sayedham – Hearing Impairment Supervisor and Sign Language Interpreter.

– Mr. Gamal Obeid – Director of Special Education for the Administration.

– Ms. Jihad – School Vice Principal.

– Mr. Shazly Al-Zuhri – Head Teacher at the School and Sign Language Interpreter.

The celebration was attended by a large number of students’ parents, who actively participated in the event.

The program included an awareness workshop for parents on effective methods of providing psychological and social support to individuals with disabilities, presented by Professor Mohamed Abdel-Razek and Dr. Ayman Adly.

The celebration also featured a variety of recreational and educational activities designed to promote positive behaviors among students. These included a drawing competition and a series of interactive games held on the school grounds with the participation of student trainees.

These activities were organized in conjunction with the ”International Day of Persons with Disabilities”, highlighting the vital role of social work in offering psychological and social support, fostering solidarity with individuals with disabilities, and developing their abilities and skills across various positive dimensions.
