Launch of the Electronic Shield Initiative

Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Louai Saad El-Din Nusrat, President of the University, and Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abbas Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty, the “Electronic Shield” youth initiative was launched on Tuesday, November 17, 2025. The initiative was presented by fourth-year graduation project students, Group 8, under the title “Youth Initiatives as a Mechanism to Reduce the Risks of Cyber Violence Against Female University Students”, and carried the slogan: “The Power of Awareness Protects You from Violence.”

The initiative was supervised by Dr. Abdel Hamid Mohamed Mahmoud Bakry.

This initiative was carried out in cooperation between the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit and the Department of Community Organization at the Faculty of Social Work. It comes within the framework of community research activities aimed at raising awareness among female university students to counter all forms of cyber violence and blackmail, and to equip them with the skills needed to handle inappropriate online interactions across social media platforms.

The event was further enriched by the presence of faculty members from the Department of Community Organization, teaching assistants, and other faculty members from the faculty. Fourth-year research seminar students, along with a number of other students from the faculty, were also in attendance.

During the launch, the students presented the steps for preparing the initiative’s programs and activities, as well as the research plan for the project topic. Several faculty members contributed to the discussion by providing insightful comments and suggestions that supported the initiative’s success.

Photos and videos documenting the preparations, implementation steps, and goals of the initiative were also displayed.
