Master Thesis Discussion of the Group Work Department
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the academic thesis of Ms. Amal Shahata Hadyah Taha, a researcher in the Department of Community Service, was discussed as part of the requirements for obtaining the Master’s degree in Social Work.
The thesis is entitled:
“A Proposed Preventive Program in Social Group Work to Alleviate the Social Factors of Relapse Among Drug Addicts Who Are Beneficiaries of the Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction.”
The Discussion and Judgement Committee consisted of:
Prof. Mohammed Mohammed Suleiman Mahmoud – Professor of Group Work and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Social Work, Assiut University (Chairman and Supervisor).
Prof. Hanaa Aref Ahmed Mohamed – Professor and Head of the Department of Community Service, former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Ph.D. in Social Anthropology, African Institute, Aswan University (Supervisor).
Prof. Mohamed Sayed Abbas Dandrawi – Professor of Community Service and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Faculty of Social Work, Aswan University (Supervisor).
Prof. Rasha Abdel-Tawab Abdel-Fattah – Assistant Professor of Community Service, Faculty of Social Work, Aswan University (Discussant).
The committee recommended awarding the Master’s degree in Social Work, specializing in Group Work.
