First Forum on Preparing Students of the Faculty to Graduate

Today, on Monday, corresponding to 4/3/2024, the first forum for preparing students of the faculty was held under the title “Professional and Career Guidance for Graduates of the Faculty of Social Work.”

The forum was held under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman-Aswan University President, in the attendance of Prof. Louay Saad Al-Din Nusrat, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of the Faculty of Social Work, Prof. Muhammad Sayed Dandrawi, Vice President of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Abdullah Saber Abdel Hamid, Forum Coordinator and Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Ali Abbas Dandrawi, former Vice President of the University, the forum’s guests, academic staff, their assistants, and faculty students.

The events of the forum began with verses from the Holy Qur’an, then the national anthem; the forum’s performances were presented by Prof.Ihab Mohamed Ahmed, assistant professor in the social work fields department, and Prof. Ayman Othman, Aswan University President, who confirmed the importance of improving skills and capabilities of students as preparation for attaching them to the labor market; in addition to carrying out political leadership directives in terms of caring youth and working on improving their social and professional skills; also acquiring them skills in light of the digital transformation and modern technology in the modern republican; the forum aims to help graduates to get work chances in the fields of the professional practices in the social work in addition to keeping up with the continued updates at the labor market.

During his speech, Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nusrat, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs and Faculty Supervisor, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the value of the Faculty of Social Work, which is busy with student activities throughout the academic year. The mission of this forum is to develop the skills and abilities of students who have graduated from the Faculty of Social Work, which was established in 1995 to graduate cadres that meet the needs of the professional work fields of social workers through communication channels between students and civil society organizations, the goal of universities today, which they work on after graduation in light of the possibility of job opportunities.

Prof.Abdullah Sabre, the faculty’s dean for community service and environmental development affairs and the forum’s coordinator, explained that the forum includes five axes, including the requirements for obtaining a qualification certificate and job opportunities for graduates, in collaboration with the General Authority for Adult Education and the Public Service Administration.

Prof. Hamada Rajab Muslim – Assistant Professor of Social Planning and Head of the Department of Social Planning, who chaired the session related to the theme of sustainable development projects and their role in qualifying graduates for the labor market in coordination with the Decent Life Foundation, and Prof. Rasha Abdel Tawab Abdel Fattah, Assistant Professor of Community Service, spoke about the importance of sustainable development projects, and about the services provided by the Decent Life Foundation.

Prof. Ali Abbas Dandrawi, former university president, discussed the function of civil universities and their role in providing job opportunities to graduates through organizational administration, as well as the role of civic foundations in creating job opportunities, by hosting M. Sauthi Mustafa Ali from the Aswan Investors Association.

Prof. Hana Arif Ahmed, Professor and Head of the Community Service Department, explained that one of the most important axes of the forum is also the axis of qualifying graduates to work in the disability field in cooperation with the African Foundation and the ”We are all on hand” Foundation.

The final session, which was entitled “Qualifying graduates for craft and heritage works,” in the axis chaired by Prof. Abdel Moneim Sultan Al-Jilani, Professor of Social Work Fields and Head of the Department of Social Work Fields, aims to qualify graduates for craft and heritage works in cooperation with the Women’s Cooperative Society for Handicrafts and the ”GANOUBIA HORA” Foundation.

At the end of the forum, the President of the University, the Vice President of the University, the professors who chaired the forum sessions, and the participants from public and commercial institutions were honored.
